3 Action Points

  • Explore your life in terms of what is valuable to you (your interests) and what goals you have (both short and long-term). These are your “ports” and “targets.”

  • Deliberate about how to achieve your goals and hit your targets. Reflect on where you are right now, where you are going, and the things (“winds”) that will help or hinder you on your way.

  • Plan your journey and launch. Practice your plan of action or plan of life. Evaluate your practice.

Making a Better Life Journey
Workout Summary

Workout 1 is about making a better life journey.

We begin by seeing our lives as a great journey that is going somewhere, toward ends we value, goals we’d like to achieve. Accordingly, we explore the “ports” we are sailing to and “targets” we are shooting at (our interests and goals).

We continue by assessing our lives in terms of where we are right now, where we’d like to go, and those things (“winds”) that will hinder or help us along the way.

We finish with practice. First, we write a plan of action toward one significant goal, and a plan of life for a better life. Then we practice our plans, evaluating the plans and our progress as we go.

Will you help the Cave? Let us know if you see something that needs editing. Say a spelling error or a space is missing. Or anything else, no matter how large or small. Trust us, such things are there! But it is hard to spot them all despite our great effort and care to do so. Such is the challenge that faces a small, shoestring operation! If you do see something, send us a note from the Contact page. Or write us directly at contact@theclassicscave.com. We'll get back to you with our eternal gratitude. Thanks!
